How We Review Apps

This page shows how we review apps, so you can see what stands behind each rating and recommendation. We use the same checklist for every app.

What we check

We review six areas. First, we check who publishes the app and whether the company is identifiable. Second, we read the permissions the app requests. Third, we read the privacy policy and data-safety label. Fourth, we check pricing, ads, and in-app purchases. Fifth, we look for regulator registrations when the app handles money. Finally, we read recent user reports for repeated problems.

Where the evidence comes from

We rely on public evidence. This includes the Google Play and App Store listings, official help pages, company filings, and regulator directories. Additionally, we cite credible news reports for incidents such as data leaks. We do not publish rumors.

What our ratings mean

We avoid fake precision. Instead of a made-up score, we explain our verdict in plain words. For example, “generally considered safe” means we found no credible red flags in public sources. It does not guarantee that the app is perfect or risk-free.

What we do not do

We do not take payment for reviews. We do not offer APK downloads or ways to bypass app restrictions. Furthermore, we do not give personal financial advice. Instead, we explain facts so you can decide.

Limits you should know

Apps and policies change often. A review reflects public information on the date we checked it. Therefore, please confirm current details inside the app or with the official provider before you act. Found a mistake? Use our corrections process.
